Y6 Pentecost experience

Pentecost Experience

Members of the congregation of St Alkmunds, Rev Judy and Rev Rich were very pleased to welcome the Year 6s to the church to explore with them the meaning of Pentecost for the Christian Church. They heard the story of how the disciples received the Holy Spirit whilst waiting together in Jerusalem and how they were empowered to tell the world about Jesus and his love for all. They thought about the things Jesus would like us to be doing today to spread the message of divine love and how they could play their part in that. They made doves, bunting which would wave in the wind, lit candles to remind them of the flame which is a sign of the Holy Spirit, wrote commitments to be kind on feet shapes as a symbol of life’s journey and thought about Christians all around the world.
