Whitchurch C.E. Junior School

At Whitchurch C.E. Junior School, our main aim is to provide an excellent education, both academic and social, in a Christian context, for all our children.  Within school we provide a secure and caring environment in which children can develop the independence and confidence to face new challenges positively.  We have a rich and exciting curriculum at Whitchurch which meets the needs of all our pupils.

We also have well established links with the local parish church, St. Alkmund's, and excellent relationships with Whitchurch C.E. Infants School and Sir John Talbot's Technology College.

Whitchurch C.E. Junior School is an exciting school which is constantly looking at ways to improve its curriculum, and learning and play environments. Our school council is very active and it has a very important role in deciding on priorities for improvement.  We have high expectations of children both academically and with regard to their behavior, which is often commented on by visitors as being very good.

The school is proud of its progress over the last few years. It has been awarded the Basic Skills Award twice, Active Mark and Charter Standards Sports awards, as well as the Safe School and Gold Healthy Schools Awards.

Our recent Ofsted inspection (April 2008) rated us Ďa good school, where pupils are being given a good grounding for their future, both in
terms of their academic development and to take their places as responsible members of society.' A copy of the full report is available on the Ofsted website.

If you are moving into Whitchurch and considering whether to send your children to Whitchurch C.E. Junior School, please contact us to arrange an appointment so that you can have a look around. You will be made very welcome.
